i know i just did an 'as seen on etsy' last week, but i really have fun doing them. its window shopping on the interwebs! do you guys enjoy seeing what i put together too or is this just me indulging myself? i try and stay restrained and keep it monthly, but they're just so fun to do and i've been sick lately (hence the lack of 7by7 last week: i figured no one wants to see photos of my epic pile of tissues or how many packets of decongestant i've consumed) so i've had time to lie around browsing etsy. i might even do another next week.

with halloween just passed i've got orange and browns on the brain. is it the mellow colors of autumn or have i just seen too much pumpkin and chocolate? either way etsy has a dearth of vintage treasures in those rusty tones.

autumn colors remind me of my mum. she had beautiful red hair and green eyes. do you remember when there was that trend of 'getting your colors done'? you would be assigned a season based on skin, hair and eye color. unsurprisingly mum was told she was an 'autumn' and her reference was a booklet of business card sized fabric swatches of colors that would suit her. i spent a lot of time playing with the swatches, in waiting rooms, restaurants, queues, and so i have a fond attraction to those colors...and also a fond attraction for pinking sheared scraps of fabric!

as seen on etsy: traveling in style

travel has been on my mind a lot recently, what with going back and forth to see my dad as well as planning an epic californian adventure in january (more on that soon!) so its not surprising that my addiction to etsy vintage "window shopping" reflects all this jet-setting i've been doing.

while standing by the luggage carousel scouring the parade of black cases for my specially marked black case, i started thinking about all the amazing luggage from the 60s and 70s. sure they had their fair share of plain colored cases, but where are the retina-burning floral options these days? on etsy, it would seem!

I make no apologies about my mug addiction. i relish my monthly etsy trawl for cute little mugs to add to my already crammed kitchen cupboard. i think the greatest irony is, i'm not even the big coffee/tea drinker in this house! but lovely Boyfriend is such an enabler, and before i know it there's another box arriving and the kitchen is full of packing peanuts once again. oops. so please, do me a favor - buy these mugs, so i can't!
